EXPERIENCE:  January 2004 to Present Cost Plus World Market Distribution Center. Stockton, CA. Operations Supervisor


  During my 12+ years as an Operations Supervisor for Cost Plus World Market, I have earned the opportunity to lead and improve multiple departments such as receiving, put-away, replenishment, shipping, and order fill.


  


  As Conveyed Order Fill Supervisor (2014 to Present) I am responsible for my department’s budget planning for the entire year. In addition, I use our company’s volume transfer forecast report to determine the headcount needed to process our fluctuating volume during countless events throughout the calendar year. It is also my responsibility to keep a core team of 60+ order fillers, 10+ down stackers, 2 clericals and 2 Team Leads. I am also in charge of coordinating and monitoring their individual hiring, training, developing, and overall performance. My conveyed order fill department (mechanized pick) consists of 4 independent modules which have 4 levels each, and a 24 lane sortation system which is ran by the latest versions of DEMATIC and AS400 WMS Systems. Last year, I led my department to finish FY2015. 1,211 hrs. under budget as we averaged 244 cases per hr. vs. a budget of 230 cases per hr. Accuracy was also a win as we averaged 99.4% vs. a company goal of 99.0%. Through intensive training, cross training, coaching, and mentoring of my Team Members. This year is shaping up to be an even bigger success than last year, as we are already 997 hrs. under budget and averaging 247 cases per hr. vs. a budget of 230 cases per hr. Accuracy is currently at 99.6% vs. a goal of 99.0%. In addition, through my constant safety awareness meetings with the employees, I know I am a big contributor to our facility’s great OSHA safety rate; as we are currently averaging 3.7 vs. 5.6 which is the industry goal.


 


  As shipping Supervisor (2010 to 2014) I was in charge of all the daily outbound shipments going to our 159 Cost Plus stores, which are serviced by our Stockton distribution center. In order to assure quality and integrity of the loads, I constantly monitored the actual loading process on the dock as well as the load plan paperwork; to make sure all scheduled freight, event codes, priorities, and rain checks were loaded safely and efficiently onto each trailer. Through my four years as the shipping supervisor, my department finished 1K+ hours under budget and a store satisfaction rating of 4.3 out of a possible 5 as the highest possible rating. 


 


  I became the Supervisor for the put -away and replenishment departments from (2007 to 2010). I was responsible for the hiring, directing, developing and training of 2 Team Leads, 3 Clericals, and 22 stand­up high reach truck operators. I managed a total of 38 high reach truck operators in order to keep up with the heavy volume in our 1 Million square foot facility. During this time, I led both my put-away and replenishment teams to a noticeable improvement in performance, as put-away improved from 97.7% accuracy rate to 99.3% and a 17% increase in productivity. Likewise, replenishment improved accuracy from 98.0% to 99.5% and productivity increased by 15%.


 


 


  My first three years as a Supervisor, were as Receiving Supervisor (2004 to 2007), I was responsible for all the inbound shipments both international and domestic. I made sure that demurrage charges were avoided at all cost by processing all shipments within our 48hour window. In addition, I improved the department’s throughput by 21%; through re­training, mentoring, and making sure that my crew of 25 receivers, 2 Team Leads, and 1 Clerical were following our company’s methods.

  During my years as a Team Lead, I was assigned to each of the operational departments such as receiving, order fill, put-away, replenishment, and shipping. I remained in each department for an average of 1.5 years, as part of our company’s cross training strategy to strengthen the workforce. 


  As a Team Lead I was responsible for conducting department’s start up meetings.


  Monitor Team Member’s productivity and accuracy.


 


  Train new Team Members on the methods and procedures specific to each department. 


  Retrain Team Members who were struggling to meet productivity and accuracy expectations.
