MILITARY AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST

THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION. The primary purpose of the MILITARY AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST, GS-0301-9, is to provide support in the administration of Military & Family Readiness Program (SFRP) services for the Army National Guard within the State Family Program. This is achieved by performing assignments designed to provide familiarity with the Family Program, community services, effective relations with supporting social service and emergency organizations, recruit and train volunteers, promote resilience and financial literacy through targeted life skills training, and the development of human resources program referral networks. Experience conducting briefings at the local, unit and state levels. Assist higher headquarters in planning and coordinating resources for family assistance. Develop and maintain a directory of resources, agencies and organizations that are available to assist Service-members, Families and survivors. Develop and conduct orientation and training programs for volunteers/personnel. The position resides within the infrastructure and support functions of the state National Guard; the incumbent is not subject to mobilization, nor is the work described part of the military mission; and the incumbent does not perform a key advisory or essential administrative role that is inherently military. In addition, the position must meet one of the following:
It does not have a comparable military function; the position is required in full-time (civilian) role when the organization, or similar military position, is mobilized to perform continuing post-mobilization functions; or the position requires a skill or competency that necessitates technical expertise or professional qualifications that cannot be readily found in the military structure of the state military force. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance. MILITARY AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST, GS-0301-9:
Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as:
Serving as fully independent advisor within geographical area of responsibility in accomplishing all objectives of the Soldier & Family Readiness Program (SFRP); Managing and operating family assistance centers and provide assistance to commands; Coaches, mentors, and trains junior staff; Establish recurring outreach contact with each Service member's Designated Individual as directed by law, regulation or instruction from the Supervisory Family Support Services Specialist. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
