The position plans, designs, and implements the College Student Success Center (SSC), developing and implementing an academic support program for students including providing academic tutoring, guidance and support and management of Academic Coaches. The Student Success Center Manager is responsible for escalating issues to the Regional Director of Operations. The Manager is responsible for ensuring that the assigned campus fully complies with all laws, regulations, accreditation standards and college policies.
Responsibilities
Supervises, hires, and evaluates performance of academic coaches.
Stay abreast of best practices for student retention, develop retention strategies for the college, and work closely with faculty, and other staff in implementing, evaluating, and improving retention strategies.
Partner with all campus departments to assess, plan, and address student academic support and tutoring needs.
Oversight of campus outreach and retention efforts including maintaining at-risk reports, student progress reports and working with the Education Management Team to best address student needs.
Analyze student academic data for research and assessment purposes.
Organize and facilitate student workshops on topics such as study skills, APA writing, learning styles, scholarly research, study techniques, text anxiety, time-management, etc.
Participates in professional organizations as appropriate and serves on College committees as assigned.
Oversee and maintain campus library; including cataloging, new acquisitions, collection development and ordering. Collaborate with College librarian and campus leadership to ensure the campus library is fully maintained. Campus administrator of EBSCOhost, OVID and Stat!Ref databases.
Improve the effectiveness of the college operations and improve student success through participation in Program Reviews, assist in the development of SLO's (Student Learning Outcomes), communicates policies and regulations to students. The SSCM is the Student Learning Outcomes Coordinator on campus and will conduct SLO audits after each term and do an analysis of the SLOs yearly.
Assesses learning needs of individual students and develops a plan of instruction based on assessment results.
Plans, designs, implements, tracks and evaluates the SSC and the programs provided to meet the needs of both on-site and online students.
Markets the SSC services to students on campus and online.
Provides academic instruction and guidance to students.
Demonstrates current, detailed, and accurate knowledge of college programs and accurately communicates academic policies and regulations to students.
Works in conjunction with Program Directors and Campus Deans, to include the development of remediation plans, the recommendation of learning materials, and the referral of students to appropriate resource persons.

Participates in professional organizations as appropriate and serves on College committees as assigned.
Conducts SOAR meetings to ensure students are receiving appropriate academic support.
Serves as a conduit for campus issues between the Regional Director of Operations and daily campus operations.
Develops and maintains high standards of professional practices and employs, directs, and maintains qualified personnel to meet the service goals and needs of the campus.
Works to improve the quality and quantity of services offered.
Establishes and develops operational policies and procedures to improve academic and administrative functions.
Provides direction for staff training and development programs to enhance individual and organizational abilities.
Qualifications
Master's degree (Required).
3 years experience in an academic environment providing classroom instruction or specialized tutoring support recommended.
Experience managing day-to-day activities in an academic department preferred, including program development and supervision of service providers.
Member of college Reading and Learning Association and the National Tutoring Association highly recommended.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, planning and critical thinking skills.
Proficiency with MS Office computer applications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
