Maintenance Mechanic (Full-Time) Stockton, CA
JOB SUMMARY :
Maintain plant equipment to provide maximum safety, quality, and performance. Personnel must follow all general and safety policies and procedures as established by the Safety Manual.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Conduct preventative maintenance on all plant equipment
Perform repairs on all plant equipment
Troubleshoot PLC
Understand operation of equipment
Maintain inventory of spare parts and order parts as required
Oversee contractors performing repairs
Operate forklift
Know how to use electrical testing equipment
Report all safety violations and unsafe conditions.
Keep work area clean and organized
All plant positions will be cross trained to allow for coverage and relief as needed
During periods of unloading of rail shift and duties may change to hookman and or pointman
May at times be required to utilize company vehicle to move around the facility
QUALIFICATIONS :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); associates degree preferred
Vocational technical training in electrical and hydraulics preferred
1-3 years job related experience and / or training
Have a working knowledge of all required reference/training materials for this position
Qualified to operate forklift
Good welding capabilities
Willingness to travel via ground, air and rail as necessary
Maintain valid driver s license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to stand; use hands and fingers to touch, feel, handle, or manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; speak and hear; walk, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, crouch, and crawl
Ability to continually operate a 12 lb. 9 hand grinder at approximately waist height throughout entire length of shift;
Exposure on a regular basis to extreme weather conditions.
Exposure to dust and smoke during operations.
Exposure to noisy conditions
Ability to turn 80 rail upright using a turning bar (with the assistance of one co-worker with another turning bar) if the rail turns over on the transfer racks
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
Audio & Visual acuity
Willingness to utilize all personal protective equipment
