Summary:
The production team leader is responsible for the performance of the line in one of the following areas:
Bread Production, Bread Packing, Bagels, Danish, Donuts, Cake and Finishing Departments; ensures that the line is running safely and meeting all production targets (t:
max, metal detectors, quality, yield, etc.
).
The line leader keeps production on schedule and handles changes and problems.
The line leader also makes line decisions when the Supervisor is unavailable and backs up the production aspects of the Supervisor position for days off, vacations and illness.
MAIN DUTIES/SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:

Turnover with other line operators at both ends of the shift to discuss production changes and which tasks still need to be completed :
Check schedules for production changes :
Give work direction to the teams on the shift :
make sure the Line Workers have a copy of the Playbook :
Use the computer to access information and checklists; fill out various forms as well as entering data into the computer :
Order ingredients, boxes and other materials :
Set up and prepare line for production.

Handle any unscheduled work, reassign line workers as necessary :
Know how to operate all machinery in his/her area of responsibility and check to make sure it is functioning correctly :
Schedule and relieve Line Workers and Machine Operators for rotations, breaks and lunch :
Adjust the line speed when necessary :
Perform pre:
inspection of the line with QC to make sure it's clean and ready to run the next product :
Ensure area is clean during and at the end of the shift :
Ensure Line Workers and Machine Operators are wearing all required PPE's :
Report any potentially unsafe practices/conditions to the Supervisor :
Recommend changes to improve production processes and standards :
Must be certified to use the motorized Pallet Jack or Fork Lift :
Know how to safely operate the lines and machines in order to teach others or fill in WORK ENVIRONMENT:

May be assigned to work in extremely cold or hot conditions :
Most positions are located in areas with loud noise and will require the employee to wear protective ear plugs :
Other conditions include flour dust, wet floors, occasional smoke and fumes if bread burns, occasional fumes from cleaning chemicals (ammonia) :
Work with pressurized air and water approximately 10 of the time.

Daily interaction with other Line Operators and the Supervisor :
