Bachelor's degree; 1 year of early child development experience with 0-3 years old.
Infant Development Specialist (IDS)/ Early Intervention Specialist (EIS):
Early start intervention is a proactive approach designed to support children with developmental delays or disabilities to reach their full potential.
This program focuses on providing support and therapy during the crucial early years of a child's development.
The Early Intervention Specialist (EIS) is the lead team member responsible for implementing and reviewing agency information with parents, including attendance policy, rights, environmental agreement, etc.
This document review is conducted annually.
Session Format:
The session will start with the EIS entering the client's home.
The initial 2 to 3 weeks of sessions will consist of rapport building and parent interviews.
Addressing parents top concerns, child's skill levels, language capabilities, assessing preferences, routines, and schedule.
They will review the progress made in the last week, discuss any lack of progress, and identify new skills the child has acquired.
Afterward, the client will be invited to the play area to work on cognitive, social, communication, adaptive, and motor goals (if applicable).
During the last 15 minutes of the session, the EIS will review practical strategies and activities with parents, addressing any questions they may have.
The session will also include discussions about the parents' top 3 concerns.
If any concerns need to be addressed by the IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) team, the EIS will communicate them appropriately.
Additionally, EIS will provide parents with additional therapy materials/handouts and routine updates via email, text message, phone call, or during the next weekly visit.
