Analyst, FP&A - Multinational Technology Conglomerate (Farmington, CA)
GENERAL
Responsibilities:
Position requires flexibility and the ability to work with large amounts of data and draw conclusions from that data.
Must possess strong analytical skills and sound business judgment.
Areas of Expertise:
- Planning, forecasting and analysis of financial data used to measure progress, summarize variances, and forecast results.
KEY
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the Americas Commercial HFM financial reporting system used for reporting of financial results to Americas management and operations.
Coordinate data requirements of the Americas HFM system, update with actual data as required by Carrier's time-sensitive closing schedule.
Review and reconcile P/L, B/S and supplemental data with the corporate HFM system.
- Prepare, distribute and enhance monthly Sales and Margin reporting.
- Support the monthly Sales planning process and report share of segment and industry performance by product line.
- Prepare and distribute daily book & ship and weekly orders & backlog reporting/commentary.
- Work with functional department owners to accurately forecast and report SG&A expenses.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in Finance or Accounting is required with 6-10 years experience.
- An MBA or Master's degree preferred with 2-5 years experience.
KEY
Qualifications:
- At least 6 years financial or accounting experience in a manufacturing/operations environment, or a minimum of 2 years with a Master's degree.
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, Carrier reporting requirements, financial analysis techniques, and budgeting/forecasting processes.
- Ability to develop and apply financial models.
- Strong PC skills including advanced knowledge of HFM, Business Objects, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong financial/cost analysis and budgeting/forecasting skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Self-direction and organization skills critical to achieve month-end reporting deadlines.
