Our client, a designer and builder of industry specific machines to customer specifications in a fast growing mechanical engineering and machine/welding shop, is in need of a Procurement/Purchasing Specialist. This is a hands on job, multitasking in all areas of the creation of specialized machines and equipment. Candidate will review BOM, obtain quotes, choose best pricing and delivery timing, type Purchase Orders and follow up on all receiving and backorders. Monday through Friday with overtime required for deadlines.
Requirements:
Purchasing specialist in machine shop environment ordering parts per job.

being built in same time frame
Manufacturing experience with knowledge of structural steel, gear boxes, hydraulic pumps, motors, control panels and power units.
Experience in components, Bill of Materials, Purchase Orders and knowledge of Excel.
Expectations:
Must multitask and handle deadlines and component delivery timelines on several jobs at once.
Will handle receiving of all components and coordinate shipping of completed machines.
Team player to interact with mechanical engineers and designers in the office and with fabricators, machinists and welders in machine shop. Must read drawings - machine shop or mechanical drafting or engineering a needed background.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
